We stock ACT clutch kits that are made from OEM Daikin parts. 30% stronger than stock. Not much to say except a big improvement!

Three "Turbo" transmission options are available with the following gear ratios. The "Ratios" column is the percentage difference in engine speed for each gear change 1-2, 2-3 etc. Even two percent differences in ratios are considered significant. You then must also examine the overall ratio of each gear by multiplying it by the final drive. If the ratios look similar, note that the overall gearing is not.

They are seldom available used.When available they are listed here. There is a fourth gear set, but it is so rare that it does not merit listing and the newer WRX-RA 98 is a better box.

The rear differential may need changed to use these transmissions depending on what model you have. They are easy to find and are $300-$450. These transmissions take turbo heavy duty clutch pressure plates as shown below. Note that non-RS owners must also purchase a pedal box and hydraulic cylinders.

Key Benefits

All these transmissions use high performance clutch components.
The 98 is a newly designed, very strong gearbox, ideal for heavy use.
The WRX 96 has taller 1st, and closer 1-2, 2-3 shifts compared to US gear boxes. It has a 3.39 final drive.  Best for autocross and open road compromise. RS box is similar.
The WRX 98 is a classic close ratio, open road gearbox with a 3.47 final drive. This gear box is designed for open road work. Keeps engine in torque band at higher speeds.
The WRX-RA 98 is a rally gear box. Recommended for rally and serious autocross only. The final drive ration is has a short 3.66 final and it will buzz the motor down the freeway..
